MILLBURY – The Millbury Parents Club has announced $ 9,350 in new donations the volunteer organization has received from local businesses to support the students who attend the Millbury Public Schools.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of the businesses in the area who sponsor our organization throughout the year,” said Alan D’Allessandro, Millbury Parents Club president. “All of the money donated will go directly back to the students to help fund educational programs, events and supplies.”
Some of the new donors include:

Some of the dozens of programs and events supported through business sponsors and the club’s fundraisers include field trips and enrichment programs such as Nature’s Classroom, Old Sturbridge Village, an in-house YMCA program; updating various classroom libraries with new books for social and emotional learning, diversity, and ancient civilizations; and supporting alternative teaching methods with soft-start STEAM boxes and writing tablets to encourage classroom participation from all students.
The Millbury Parents Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in the 1970s and is composed of parent, grandparent, guardian and teacher volunteers. The MPC supports preschool through 12th grade in the Millbury Public School District.
The group brainstorms, organizes and executes fundraising and events throughout the school year. One-hundred percent of the funds raised directly benefit all the students in the district.
